When you start something new, there’s always a learning curve.

Our curve began on a buying trip. While sitting over dinner, a designer husband and his teacher wife were discussing their finds from the day. The husband was expressing his frustration of connecting with customers that would really appreciate the well designed, relationally driven items for the home that he had found that day. The wife was expressing her frustration that there was no place where they lived selling the well designed, relationally driven teaching resources and toys she saw.

The ideas began to flow (like a glass or two of wine that may have been shared), and the excitement began to grow. What if there was a place that combined those beautiful, well designed goods with a passion for engaging and teaching children. Children could learn to respect other cultures by engaging with goods made by talented artisans from other countries. They could learn to honor our planet by interacting with toys made responsibly. They could learn to appreciate quality of craft and design by being surrounded by objects both beautiful and practical.

The name came naturally as they began to discuss the things they didn’t know. They knew this journey, while rewarding, would be full of curves. They believe that there are parents, teachers and children that deserve beautiful, well crafted goods presented in a unique environment, and they look forward to learning along with them.

We curate and edit an amazing collection of toys that inspire generations. We interview makers and artists from around the world to find the best products and most compelling stories. We create a space that is fun and inciting, with no barriers to play. We invite you to touch and experience the beauty in play.

This is a place where two people’s passions amplify each other and create a beautiful, engaging experience filled with the perfect products.
